Antenna diversity is an effective solution to mitigate multipath fading signals and enhance the system capacity. Ultra wide band has become one of the most favourable technologies for wireless communications owing to its promising features such as low susceptibility to multipath fading, reduced probability of detection and intercept, and potentially high data rates. The aim of project is to design a new compact coplanar fed antenna suitable for polarization diversity in ultra wideband (UWB) applications. The antenna consists of four identical monopoles that are printed on a low loss substrate with 3 mm spacing and positioned perpendicular to each other. Simulations are carried for getting the return loss, gain and radiation patterns.
